  • 1. Praise the Lord, O my soul, with all my being!
  • 2. Throughout my life I will give thanks to the Lord; with songs and praises to my God I will honor each day of my life.
  • 3. In God, the Eternal, I put my trust; for princes and mere mortals cannot save me.
  • 4. For when the human spirit departs, it returns to the dust, and in the same day all its plans vanish.
  • 5. Blessed is he whose help comes from the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God,
  • 6. Creator of the heavens, the earth and the seas, and who keeps His faithfulness for all eternity!
  • 7. He watches over the oppressed and gives them refuge; he gives food to the hungry, and he frees the prisoners.
  • 8. The Lord gives sight to the blind, he raises up those who are bowed down, and his love is poured out on the righteous.
  • 9. He supports the foreigner, the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the plans of the wicked.
  • 10. The Lord reigns forever, in all times and places! O Zion, rejoice in your God, for He is King from generation to generation. Hallelujah!
